Many of you received this email below announcing the ARRL scholarships for 22/23. 

I wanted to bring one to your attention and hopefully you can raise awareness in our youth for one special scholarship for South Carolina.   

I hope you have contacts with licensed graduating seniors that are planning to attend a 4 year university or college. 

I highly suggest they apply for not one THIS one but for all they are interested in via the ARRL.

This year is a record for possible money for students in many categories, not all are engineering but are open to all.

130 scholarships will be offered totaling $900,000

-The Fritz Nitsch, W4NTO, Memorial Scholarship

  • Amount: $5,000
  • Number of Awards: 1-2 per year
  • License Requirement: General Class or higher amateur radio license; must be licensed for at least one year prior to applying to scholarship
  • Region: Preference given to applicants from South Carolina. If no qualified applicant is identified, preference will be given to an applicant from the Roanoke Division
  • Field of Study: Engineering or other 4-year technical degree
  • Institution: Any

The ARRL Foundation Scholarship application period for the academic year
2022-2023 is now open!!!!

Last year the Foundation issued $550,000 in scholarships for 2021-2022.

This year, the Foundation will offer a significant increase in the
number of large dollar scholarships available, thanks to a generous
contribution from Amateur Radio Digital Communications, Inc. (ARDC).

Specifically:  For the academic year 2022-2023, 130 scholarships will be
offered totaling $900,000! These will be as follows:

  *  20 at $25,000 each
  *   4 at $15,000
  *  17 at $10,000
  *   9 at $ 5,000
  *  “Dozens” at $1,000 and $500

Applicants MUST hold an Amateur Radio license to apply.
